Kavita Oberoi, the founder and CEO of Oberoi Consulting, who appeared on Channel 4's 'Secret Millionaire', has shown her support for Community Enterprise and the work we do with unemployed people. Kavita says:

On Thursday, 10th November Kavita appeared as a guest speaker at the "Inspiring Derby" event held at the Friar Gate Studios, in Derby.
At the monthly event, Kavita shared her success stories and experiences, and the University of Derby gave a talk about how they work with local businesses and their Mentoring Scheme.

Kavita was chosen to judge this year's Family Business Awards, which aimed to promote innovation and commitment to excellence within the family business community.
The 2011 Awards, run as a charitable, not-for-profit initiative, named The Children's Society, The Willow Foundation and The Venture Foundation as this year's beneficiaries - each of which is dedicated to supporting the lives of young people and young enterprise.
The award ceremony was held at Birmingham's Town Hall on Thursday 17th November.

Octavian received double recognition of the company's financial turnaround and international expansion since Kavita became Strategic Operations Director and their relocation to Derby; winning the prestigious "MSDUK Supplier of the Year - Responsible Business Practice" and "MSDUK Overall Supplier of the Year" awards.
This year's MSDUK Awards Ceremony took place in front of an audience of 400 at the London Marriott, Grosvenor Square Hotel.

Security company, Octavian Security, co-owned by Kavita, has announced they are seeking to build closer CSR partnerships, with new and existing clients, in support of either its own chosen charity, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts' (WAGGGS), or the clients' preferred charity.
The company selected the Global Girls Fund as its main charity for 2010/2011 following Kavita's recent appointment as Chair of the Global Girls Fund board.

NVQs for staff at Octavian Security

STAFF at a security firm co-owned by Derby entrepreneur Kavita Oberoi are taking extra qualifications to improve customer service.
Security officers, managers and back room staff at Pride Park-based Octavian Security are taking NVQs in customer service with Derby College.
It is hoped the qualification will help improve their interaction with clients as well as those they come across through the course of their work.
Octavian's commercial director, Tony Mellor, said: "The NVQ will give everyone greater communication skills that will enable them to achieve more."

Secret Millionaire Kavita Oberoi has taken the next step in her quest to empower young girls, by joining the Girl Guides.
On April 10th, International Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting appointed Kavita as Chair of the Global Girls' Fund Board, with HRH Princess Benedikte of Denmark acting as Patron of the Fund, leading its Council of Ambassadors.
"Girls and young women deserve our support and investment."
