At the Derby Entrepreneur Embassy, held at the Quad arts centre in Derby, leading local entrepreneurs called on the Government to incentivise businesses to take people on.
Kavita said that "many businesses start out in adversity. For example I decided I wasn't going to work for anyone else when I missed out on a promotion. A business can start out of desperation and aspiration, with perspiration and inspiration".

Leadership Masterclass – “Going It Alone”

In her leadership masterclass, entitled “Going It Alone”, Kavita recounted the decisions that had led her to leave a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry in 2001 and to set up her own IT and business healthcare consultancy.
Kavita said that success could be driven by many things – “desperation, inspiration or aspiration” – but that having the right mindset is always vital for attaining one's goal.

As a part of the "Be Inspiring" project fund launch at the YMCA Derbyshire, Kavita gave a presentation on the importance of inspiring the youth of today. The "Be Inspiring" project is a multi-agency venture which aims to raise the self-esteem and aspirations of young people.
